The panel is dockable and can also be used as a floating window.

Integration with Maya's Time Editor

The plug-in uses Maya's Time Editor to organize imported animation clips. When you import a glTF or GLB file with animation clips, the importer automatically creates the corresponding Time Editor clips where:

  • Each composition appears as a main grouping in the Time Editor
  • Each animation clip within a composition is created in its own track
  • The clips in the corresponding tracks are clearly labeled with their respective animation names
  • You can easily navigate between different compositions using the dropdown composition selector

This gives you a direct connection between the panel and Maya's native animation workflow.

Using the Animation Clips Panel

In the Animation Clips panel, you can:

  1. Select a Composition: Choose the composition you want to inspect from the dropdown at the top of the panel
  2. Review Imported Clips: See the clips created for that composition during import
  3. Play Clips: Play individual clips directly from the panel
  4. Edit Clips: Rename or delete clips directly from the panel

The panel also includes tools for defining new clips and baking clips to the scene when needed.

Features

  • Dockable UI: Use the panel docked in Maya or as a floating window
  • Automatic Time Editor Creation: Imported animation clips are created in Maya's Time Editor during import
  • Clip Playback: Play clips directly from the panel
  • Clip Editing: Rename or delete clips directly from the panel
  • Multiple Compositions: Switch between compositions using the dropdown to inspect their clips
  • Native Maya Workflow: Work with imported animations through Maya's Time Editor

All animation clips are organized according to the data in the imported glTF or GLB file.
